New York Incentives & Rebates

New York offers a 25% state solar tax credit (up to $5,000) — one of the strongest state incentives in the country. NY-Sun program provides additional rebates based on utility territory. Property tax exemption for solar. Net metering available (transitioning to VDER Value Stack). Note: The federal 30% residential solar tax credit expired December 31, 2025 for customer-owned systems. Solar leases and PPAs may still offer indirect savings from the commercial tax credit. Check with a tax advisor for current eligibility. Source: DSIRE, EnergySage.
